International Electric Co., Ltd. Signs MOU with CNU for Joint R&D and Talent Development in Future Railway Technology

International Electric Co., Ltd.  (CEO Kim Sunho) announced that on the 8th it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the RISE Business Group of Chungbuk National University and the Osong Railway Cluster Center for Future Railway Technology Convergence Talent Development (Director Yoon Jaejung) for mutual cooperation on research and development and human resources training related to the future railway industry.

This agreement was prepared to strengthen the competitiveness of the regional railway industry and to foster key talent that will lead future technologies. Through this agreement, the two institutions agreed to closely cooperate in various areas, including: training programs to strengthen job competencies in future railway technologies; cooperation on practical training in power, electrical facilities, and signaling; building a foundation for on-site training and employment linkage; and expanding joint research and technology exchanges.

International Electric Co., Ltd. was founded on October 26, 1946 as Korea's first transformer-specialized manufacturer, "Kukje Transformer Manufacturing Plant," and has grown by independently developing its own technologies. The company supplies a wide range of power equipment, including railway transformers, distribution transformers, and UPS systems, and in particular possesses Korea's only proprietary technology for special transformers for railway vehicles. Recognized for this technological prowess, it has continued to supply products to major domestic and overseas companies and institutions such as Korea Railroad Corporation, Airport Railroad, and Hyundai Rotem, building a strong track record of trust.

International Electric Co., Ltd. has recently achieved visible results in the global market as well. As a result of expanding exports mainly to the North American market over the past several years, last year's export volume surged by 274% compared to the previous year, and sales also increased by 42%. Recently, the company has been expanding its business areas into North American power generation companies, AI data centers, and renewable energy, and therefore export growth of more than 150% and sales growth of more than 60% are expected in 2025.

Kim Sunho, CEO of International Electric Co., Ltd., said, "Through this agreement, we expect to create synergies that will lead the future railway industry by combining our proprietary railway transformer technology with Chungbuk National University's research capabilities."
